Meet The Guinea Pigs

The Chinchillas

This is Lewis. I bought him from my friend Pauline Dutton and I have used him in my chinchilla breeding. He has grown into a lovely big boar and has produced some lovely babies.

This is Mozart, he is a silver (white/grey) chinchilla boar and son of Mandy and Maxwell. He is lovely boar and has now won Best New & Emerging variety many times. He is living with Katy and is now retired from showing.

This is Pickle. She is a daughter of Piccalilli and Donny, and half brother of Luke and is a lovely cream/grey chinchilla sow. She is living with Minty.

This is Munchie, he is a cinnamon (white/beige) chinchilla boar and is son of Maxwell and Pickle. I have shown him as a pet, and he has done very well, but is now retired from showing. He is living with Melody.

This is Puff. She is a cinnamon chinchilla teddy, and daughter of Bounty and Munchie. She is very sweet and is a big sow.

This is Scruff. He is son of Lilly and Maxwell, is an orphan and the only surviving baby from Lilly's last litter before she died and the last son of Maxwell. He has grown in to a large pig and has done quite well at the shows both in pets and in the New & Emerging classes. He is living with a young lilac boar called Smudge.

This is Merlin. He is a white/beige (cinnamon) chinchilla boar and is son of Silver and Mozart. He is quite pale, but should darken as he gets older. At his first show he won Best New & Emerging Variety and beat his dad Mozart, a great result. I think he will eventually look very much like Maxwell his grandad. He is living with Sugar.

This is Melody. She is also a white/beige (cinnamon) chinchilla, but a bit darker than Merlin, and is also a daughter of Silver and Mozart. She is living with Munchie.

This is Sugar. She is daughter of Puff and Lewis. She is growing into a lovely silver chinchilla and won Best New & Emerging breed at her first show, beating both Merlin and Mozart!! She is living with Merlin.

This is Katy. She is a silver chinchilla sow and daughter of Crunchie and Munchie. She is a bit dark, but will make a good sow to breed from. She has recently had a lovely litter from Merlin, but is now paired up with Mozart.

This is Sherbert. She is a cream/beige chinchilla sow and daughter of Honey and Merlin. She has done well at the shows already so far. She is living with her sister Lemon Drop.

This is little Miracle. He is a cinnamon chinchilla boar and son of Munchie and Melody. He is called Miracle, because when I found him, he had only just been born and was so cold and only just alive. He has just been to his first show, and done very well.

This is Maisie. She is a cream/grey chinchilla sow. She is daughter of Saffy and Merlin and is going to be quite big. I am going to show her this year.

This is Misty. She is a white/grey (silver) chinchilla and is a daughter of Glitter and Mozart and living with Tango. I am hoping to show her this year.

This is a silver chin sow that is sister to Misty (above). She is darker than Misty, but should make a lovely breeding sow, as her white markings are very good. She is living with her mum Glitter.

Here is the third sister to the 2 above, she is a cinnamon chinchilla and is also quite dark, her markings are not so clear. I may keep her for breeding, I have not made my mind up yet. She is living with Wonder and Milly.

The Argentes

This is Wonder. She is a daughter of Bubble and Stevie and is a golden/lilac argente. She has done very well for me at shows, winning best argente a few times, but is now retired from showing. She is now living with Milly and a young chin sow.

This is Glitter. She is a white/beige argente sow and daughter of Crystal and Luke. She is living with her daughter. She now will be retired from breeding.

This is Sparkle. She is a white/lilac argente sow and daughter of Glitter and Lewis. She is living with Rodders.

This is Lizzy. She is a golden/lilac argente sow and daughter of Sparkle (above) and Jack. She is a super sow and has won 2nd BIS show for me at Kent Coast, my best ever result!! She is living with Jet.

This is Jill. She is a young argente sow that I am going to show this year. She is daughter of Jack and Lorna. She is living with Reggie.

The Dalmatians

This is Milly. She is a black & tan dalmatian sow, and very, very sweet. She is living with Wonder and a young chin sow.

This is Fudge. He is son of Saffy and Dizzee. He is a saffron/lilac argente dalmatian, with some saffron patches on his face as well. He is very cute and I think will be quite big. I have started to show him in pets and he has done quite well. He is now living with Lorna.

The Selfs

This is Tango. She is a PE golden sow and is living a young chinchilla sow Misty.

This is Minty. He has come from Lisa at Leeloocaviestud. He is now neutered and living with Pickle.

This is Jet. He is black neutered boar that my friend Jackie gave me. He is living with Lizzy.

This is Saffy. She is a saffron sow that I bought from Joyce Cavanagh. She is living with her daughter Maisie.

This is Rodders. He is a cream boar and son of Honey and Merlin and growing into a very lovely large boar. Oh I wish he had been a chinchilla!!! I will hang on to him for now and see how he develops. He is living with Sparkle.

This is Lemon Drop. She is daughter of Honey and Merlin (and sister of Rodders above) and is a very pretty little sow. I have shown her, and she has done very well, winning me 2 trophies. She is living with her sister Sherbert.

This is Lorna. She is a self lilac sow that I bought from Bill in Dorset, when I was at the Fareham show. She had some babies from Jack last year, but is now living with Fudge. She did live with Jack again for a while before he died, so she may be pregnant by him, time will tell!

This is Smudge. He is a young self lilac boar that I bought from Ian Cinderby at the Fareham show last year. He is living with Scruff. I may show him later this year.

The Others

This is Reggie. He is an Aby that I got from my friend Paula. He has recently been neutered and is living with my young argente sow.
