Other Pets - Past And Present

Here are some pictures of some of my past pets and pets we have today

Minstrel

This was our first cat when we moved to Tadworth in 1988.   She was a rescue cat from the local pet centre.

She had 4 lovely kittens in 1989 and we kept the ginger and white tabby.   Unfortunately Mini was found dead in 1992 in a nearby garden after she was missing for over a week, I think she had been run over and had tried to get home, a great shame!

Geoffrey

She was called Geoffrey as we thought she was a tom cat and then found out later she was female, but decided to keep her name!!!  She was a very friendly cat and would come to see anyone who came to visit our house.  She died at the age of 15 after having kidney problems and we miss her very, very much.

Josie

Today we have a lovely little black cat called Josie.   We bought her in 2000 from a local breeder and she is a great micer, keeping them out of the garage away from the guinea pigs!!!  She does a great job.   She is actually my son Tom's cat.

Ella

We also had a great Dane called Ella.   She was also born in 1989 and grew up with Geoffrey, but eventually she went to the Great Dane Rescue centre as we only had a small garden and really she was too big for our house.   She was a great dog and lots of fun!

Mystery

This was my horse Mystery that Dave bought for me in 1990.  She was Arab x Thoroughbred and a lovely horse to ride without a bad bone in her body!   She had a great temperament and I had a great time riding her.   I went to lots of competitions with her (cross country, dressage and mock hunts) and miss her very much.   Unfortunately I had to have her put down in 1999 after she developed a heart condition.   She is greatly missed!!!

Amber

This was my next horse, a welsh cob x thoroughbred palomino called Amber.   I bought her in 2001.  She was a lovely horse but a little bit different from Mystery as she was only 5 when I bought her, so I had to have lots of lessons and put a lot of work and time into her.   Unfortunately I developed a problem with my back and left hip (which I found out later) and I decided to sell her on.   Great shame as she would have made a great dressage horse, but I could not cope with the pain in my leg.
