KINGATE CAVIES

The home of happy, healthy guinea pigs

Past Babies

Here are some pictures of baby guinea pigs I have had in the past.

This is a picture of the very first baby guinea pigs that I bred.  Their mother was a chocolate and golden sow called Cocoa, and their father was a buff boar called Ernie.   They were born in August 1981.   I kept the lemon agouti sow on the far left called Eve and went on to breed some babies from her.

Here is Eve with her babies in 1982.

My chocolate and golden sow Cocoa also had these babies by a Sheltie boar called Badger in 1982.   I kept the lemon agouti boar and called him Tim.

This is my pet sow called Crunchie who had four lovely babies in 1990.

Here is a picture of the babies, one is a rex.   I kept the cream dutch boar, he was called Luciano.

Here is a picture of the first self lilacs that I bred and my first pure-bred cavies.   This is Lilly with her babies in 1992.

I then went on to breed my first argentes.   This is Carrie a satin golden/lilac argente sow that I found in a pet shop, and her babies from Charlie in 1993.

Here are the same babies with baby Freddie on the far left.   I also kept the sow on the far right called Pinky and she also produced some lovely argente babies.

This is Chalkie with her babies from April 2005 with baby Badger in the middle.  Unfortunately Badger is no longer with us, she died in January 2007 after having four babies.

This is Piccalilli (far left) with her brothers and sisters.  Their mum was Goldie, unfortunately she died in the summer of 2006 after having six babies.   Goldie is also mum of Bubble and Squeak.

This is baby Pip (on left) with her sisters in January 2006.

This is Squeak with her babies in 2006.

This is Minstrel with her young brothers (the two boars (Travis and Otis) now belong to Jo at Wheeksters Cavies).  These were Badger's babies from June 2006.

This is Chalkie with her last babies born in January 2007, including Aero in the centre.
